Privacy Policy for Kozy

This Privacy Policy explains how Tunde Alao ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Kozy mobile application and the website at usekozy.com (together, the "App"). We comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable data protection laws.

1. Who We Are

Kozy is developed by Tunde Alao, based in the European Union. For the purposes of GDPR, Tunde Alao is the data controller responsible for your personal data in connection with the App.

2. What Kozy Does

Kozy is an AI video editor. You upload video, photos and audio, describe the edit you want, and Kozy plans and produces the edit. This editing happens on our servers, not on your device, so the content you add to a project is uploaded to us and processed by the service providers listed in Section 5.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Account Information

When you sign in with Apple, Google, or email, we collect your email address and, if provided, your name. You can also add a profile photo. We store the answers you give during onboarding.

3.2 Your Content

• The videos, photos, and audio you add to a project
• The prompts and messages you write, and the plans, edits, and transcripts Kozy generates from them
• Your projects, templates, and exported videos
• Any TikTok or Instagram link you submit to create a template, and the video downloaded from that link

3.3 Usage and Analytics Data

We record how the App is used, such as screens viewed, features used, and errors, along with device information such as device model, operating system version, language, and general region. This data is linked to your account, including your user ID, email address, and name.

3.4 Subscription Information

Subscriptions are purchased through Apple's In-App Purchase system. We never receive your payment card details. We receive your subscription status, plan, and purchase and renewal dates so we can give you access and track your credits.

3.5 Notifications

If you allow notifications, we store a push token for your device so we can tell you when your video is ready.

3.6 Device Permissions

Kozy asks for access to your photo library, camera, and microphone only so you can add media to a project and save exported videos. You can change these permissions at any time in your device settings.

4. How We Use Information and Legal Bases

• To provide the App (performance of a contract): running your account, storing and editing your content, managing your subscription and credits, and sending notifications about your projects
• To improve the App (legitimate interests): understanding how Kozy is used, fixing problems, and preventing abuse
• With your consent: access to your photos, camera, and microphone, and push notifications, all controlled through your device settings

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your content for advertising.

5. Service Providers

We share data with the following providers only as needed to run Kozy:

5.1 Third-Party AI

Kozy cannot edit your video without AI models run by other companies. When you ask Kozy for an edit or create a template, we send the following to these AI providers:

• Anthropic, Google, and OpenAI (through Vercel AI Gateway) receive your prompts and messages, frames and clips from your videos, your photos, and the transcripts of your audio.
• AssemblyAI receives the audio from your videos so it can transcribe what is said.

This content can include your face, your voice, and anyone else who appears in the media you upload. We send it only to produce the edit you asked for. We do not send your account details, such as your name or email address, to these AI providers.

If you do not want your content shared with these providers, do not upload it to Kozy. You can stop further sharing at any time by deleting a project or your account.

6. International Data Transfers

Some of these providers process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your account information and content for as long as your account is open. You can delete individual projects and templates in the App at any time.

You can delete your account in the App under Settings → Account Settings. This closes your account immediately. To have the personal data and content associated with it erased from our systems, email contact@tundealao.com and we will do so within 30 days, except for information we are legally required to keep, such as transaction records.

8. Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are in the European Economic Area, or otherwise protected by GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Have inaccurate data corrected
• Have your data deleted
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Receive your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent at any time
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

9. Children's Privacy

Kozy is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above.
